Appearance: a luminous amber–copper hue that announces skin-contact winemaking. Nose: bright orange peel, dried apricot, honeyed orchard fruit, a hint of white tea and gentle spice. Palate: textured and generous with a gripping yet polished tannic structure, lively citrus acidity and savory, nutty undertones that carry through to a sustained, saline-tinged finish. Producer notes: crafted by Valli Wines as part of their small-batch, expressive range, this bottling showcases a hands-off, artisanal approach aimed at purity and texture. Winemaking: whole-bunch/skin contact fermentation gives the wine its colour and tannic frame; fermentation and maturation focused on preserving aromatics—minimal intervention, gentle extraction and careful use of sulphur. Vineyard: fruit is sourced from selected sites in New Zealand chosen for balanced ripeness and good drainage; cooler maritime influences help retain bright acidity while allowing phenolic ripeness.
